SBI Clerk Mains Syllabus 2019

The SBI Clerk Main exam is scheduled to be held from 10 August 2019.
The SBI Clerk Syllabus for the Main exam is one of the important factors to kick-start your exam preparation. It is essential to have comprehensive knowledge of the pattern and syllabus before you appear for the exam.

To help you prepare for the SBI Clerk Main exam, we have prepared below the detailed syllabus and exam pattern. It is advised to stick to the official syllabus and exam pattern while preparing for the SBI Clerk exam 2019.

SBI Clerk Main Exam Pattern 2019

This will be an Online Objective Test consisting of 190 questions and is of 2 hours 40 minutes. And it will consist of the following tests.

Important Points to Know -
i) The timing of each test is different and is mentioned above.
ii)There will be a negative marking of 1/4th 
iii) There is NO sectional cutoff (minimum qualifying marks in each section) in SBI Clerk Main 2019 Examination. But Candidates are required to score minimum percentage marks on aggregate (overall).

SBI Clerk Main Syllabus 2019

I. Reasoning Ability/ Computer Aptitude

It is expected that the Reasoning & Computer questions will be in the ratio of 35/40: 15/10 which means the number of questions from Reasoning section will be more as compare to the Computer section.
Reasoning Ability – Level (Moderate) 
The questions will be from various topics like –
(i) Syllogism – 5 Qs (Moderate)
(ii) Inequality – 3 Qs (Easy)
(iii) Seating Arrangement (Circular – Inward Outward) – 5 Qs (Moderate)
(iv) Linear Arrangement (North-South) – 5 Qs (Moderate)
(v) Puzzle – Floor based – 5 Qs (Moderate)
(vi) Coding Decoding - - 3 to 5 Qs (Moderate)
(vii) Blood Relation – 2 to 3 Qs (Moderate)
(viii) Order and Ranking - 2 to 3 Qs (Moderate)
(ix) Direction Sense - 1-2 questions (Moderate)
(viii) Data Sufficiency – 3 to 4 Qs (Moderate)
(ix) Input-output - 5 questions (Easy)

Computer Aptitude – Level (Moderate)

In this, general questions of Computer Awareness will not be asked. New types of questions will be asked in Computer sections which will be mainly based on a conversion from Binary to Decimal & vice versa. The questions will be asked in the form of puzzle, so don't confuse in between Computer Awareness & Computer Aptitude. 

2. Quantitative Aptitude: (Level Moderate-Diffficult) Total Qs – 50

This section covers topics from various topics like -
(i) Number Series – (5 Qs.) (moderate)
(ii) Data Interpretation – 2 Sets -10 Qs (Easy to Moderate) – Tabular /Bar Graph / Pie Chart / Missing DI/Mixed DI
(iii) Simplification – 10 Qs. (easy to moderate)
(iv) Approximation - 5 Qs (Moderate)
(v) Quadratic Equation – 5 Qs (Moderate)
(vi) Quantity Based Questions - 5 Qs (Moderate)
(vii) Data Sufficiency – 5 Qs (Easy)
(viii) Miscellaneous Questions – 15 Qs.(Moderate)
Miscellaneous Questions consist of questions from different topics such as – Profit loss, Average, SI & CI, Ratio & Proportion, Time & Work, Time, Speed & Distance, Boats & Streams, etc.

3. English Language: (Level Moderate) Total Qs – 40

This section covers topics from various topics like -
(i) Reading Comprehension – 1 sets = 10 Qs (Moderate)
(ii) Cloze Test – 10 Qs. (Moderate)
(iii) Parajumbles/Sentence Rearrangement – 5 Qs. (Moderate)
(iv) Sentence Improvement/Sentence Connector – 5 Qs (easy)
(v) Spotting Error – 5 Qs (Tough)
(vi) Fill in the blanks –5 Qs (Easy to moderate)
(vii) Sentence Connector - 5 Qs (Easy to moderate)
(viii) Odd one out - 3-5 Qs (Moderate)

4. General/Financial Awareness:(Level Moderate) Total Qs – 50

It is expected that 30 questions will be asked from Current Affairs + Static Gk and rest 20 questions will be from Banking, Economy & Financial Awareness.
Current affairs questions can be asked from different topics like - new appointments, awards, and honors, sports, new schemes, national and international news, the latest developments in science and technology.
Financial Awareness – Questions can be asked from the latest Banking, Economy & Financial News. News from RBI, SBI, ICICI, HDFC, Monetary policy, etc.
GK & Current affairs part plays a main role in the exam. For GK, try to go through daily updates/important News. Read newspaper regularly and note down important news of the day, revise and learn it on the next day, which will surely improve your current affairs and you can score maximum marks in this section. 
Clarification related time allotted for each section - In the new pattern, the fixed time allotted for each section. During the exam, the order of the section will be predetermined and he/she cannot switch to any other section before the allotted time does not get over for that particular section. If time gets over for a particular section, you cannot attempt the section again.
